Raptors Out East
Now I know where to find some good raptors:
Pronghorns paying no mind...
13 Rough-legged Hawks!
and a REALLY sweet Ferruginous Hawk.
Cooperative up to a point...
A beautiful Golden Eagle on windmill

Up at Lory Before Snow
Went up to the Mill Creek trail yesterday, before today's good dumping. No grouse, no turkey (I can always hope...) but a fellow hiker did point out MOUNTAIN LION tracks crossing the trail. Would have enjoyed seeing that lion (yes, from a safe distance...)
Water still running at a favorite spot - though cold as anything yesterday.

"?" Sparrow...Now known to be Cassin's Finch :)
Would have been fun today in all this snow!! But it was nice to stay inside and watch goldfinches :)

Cold Birds
Okay...maybe it was me that was cold. First a stop at Riverbend Ponds:

Then over to Timnath...
for some Buffleheads
in flight.

Birds before Snow
Some good raptors yesterday before the snow. My first Prairie Falcon:
Pretty cooperative up to a point...out near Timnath Reservoir.

fall rumblings
